Journaling as Self-care
By Beth Navarro
I’ve always looked to words to give me answers. For as long as I can remember I’ve done this. I wrote stories, poems, plays, screenplays, picture books, novels. Over the years I journaled as well but not regularly. Over the last year when life got hard I realized how much self-care mattered. I created a solid ritual journaling and the discoveries I’ve made are nothing short of extraordinary.
Your journal is your witness. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It's there to bear witness, to the good, to the bad and everything in between. Journaling is a meditation and has become a integral part of my self-care. It feeds my soul like a spiritual practice. Journaling is not just away to record and remember. It is a way to process (and it will literally change your brain chemistry!). I believe in the power of writing.
In this ongoing class we will explore different ways to journal (it's not just limited to "Dear Diary") and how to use this as a regular practice in your self-care routine.
Dates: Pick one or many! We will switch up exercises in each class.
