![]() It’s that time of year--yuletide, Holiday parties, looking back at what you’ve accomplished, and also what you didn’t accomplish. Our last meeting for The New Hollywood was this last weekend. And during that meeting we take the time to acknowledge each member. We call it our “love fest.” We feel it’s important to look back at the year through a lens of positivity and kindness first. To celebrate even the “half” achieved goals and see how much we’ve grown in the process. This year has been a big year of expansion for TNH--adding our TNH LGBT branch, the 10th year of the original women’s group, creating micro grants for our members for socially conscious projects, expanding our charity outreach with the TNH Charity Challenge, TNH Fiscal Sponsorship, TNH Wine Club, and next year adding a TNH Men’s branch. We also hopped on planes and participated in events ranging from speaking at the Global Digital Citizenship Summit at Twitter headquarters, to performing in “Broadway Sniffs Out Cancer” at The Public in NYC, and supported Brooklyn WebFest by judging and presenting our TNH Emerging Voices Award for up and coming socially conscious filmmakers. We consistently highlighted positive content on our social media outlets to help keep our viewership inspired and informed. We had a strong presence and supported The National Women’s History Museum - Women Making History Brunch, presented at the annual Blank Theater Young Playwright’s Festival, helped produce and support the annual Gratitude Summit & Awards and had multiple women withing our organization nominated for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Women Making a Difference Awards! We also continued programs from the past such as TNH Wine and Cheerios supporting our moms, the 4th annual TNH Get My Body Back Challenge, and our favorite, #TNHThankful30 social media campaign leading in November, which reminding us to focus on gratitude. Our individual members accomplished stellar goals ranging from getting engaged, to shooting TV series, to starting a mentorship program for at risk girls, to having babies. And so as this year comes to close we want to thank you for your participation, support, and care. It crucial to create a community of cheerleaders. To find ways to support each other during times of adversity and to celebrate together during times of prosperity. We urge you to do an overview of your year and ask yourself: What worked this year? What was my most pleasurable experience? What am I most proud of? What am I grateful for? What synchronicities did I experience? What areas can I grow in next year? What goals can I continue in 2017 and what goals do I let go of that I no longer feel fit my path? We are constantly evolving and honing the skill to evaluate and assess ourselves in the process. It is something we take ongoing value in here at TNH. Make sure to take our pledge and join the newsletter so you can stay up to date about current events and programs as we continue to expand. Next year we will be hosting a one day “Goal Reboot” retreat mid-year, and will also be joining forces with The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media to create an inspiring industry mentorship event on February 11th! As always thank you for your kind support and generous donations contributed to raising awareness for all of these initiatives, as well as further sponsoring TNH programs and expansion. If you would like to share our movement and get further involved, please pass along this link to our pledge page to stay in the loop of all things The New Hollywood. If you feel inspired to further support our movement, we would appreciate any size donation this holiday season. As always your gift will be tax deductible! Thank you for your generous partnership, we couldn’t do it without you. The New Hollywood is dedicated to supporting socially conscious storytellers and changemakers! We intend to inspire everyone to Rise Higher, Shine Brighter & Give Back! We are a 501c3 nonprofit established in 2006 with branches in the women’s, men’s and LGBT communities.
