Every year, we take on a small group of LA based changemakers and story tellers.  We meet 5 times a year and inspire each other to Rise Higher, Shine Brighter and Give Back.

Alexis Carra Girbés is a native of Tampa, Florida and graduated Cum Laude B.A. in Theater Studies from Yale University. She has been on Broadway and numerous film and TV roles. Some favorite shows and roles include Wicked on Broadway, Fosse Verdon opposite Same Rockwell on FX, and several starring leading roles in TV shows such as Mixology and Recovery Road. Her greatest passion is dance and teaching.

She co-founded Broadway Arts Community in 2017 and teaches dance and theatre worldwide. Alexis’s newest venture is motherhood and her greatest joy is her family! She is also committed to working with homeless youth and in addition to TNH, Alexis has worked with the Covenant House of California since 2008.

Alison Wolin is an experienced social and digital media expert in the entertainment community who has collaborated with top actors, athletes, models and musicians to build expansive social media profiles. She is known for her creative growth strategies and executing all varieties of campaigns for her clients.

Having worked on launching TV shows, books, films, award show campaigns, charity fundraising and brand endorsements, she’s learned and strategized with the best in the business. Alison started her professional career at CAA in the television department and joined an affiliate group developing the WhoSay app. At WhoSay, she built out social media profiles and strategies at a time when social media was just beginning, helping to launch some of the most prolific social media accounts still active today.

Since then she has been a private consultant, build celebrity emojis, and helped talent and brands execute their vision on social media.

Alison grew up in Newton, MA. She began working in the entertainment industry in NYC while still in college with a series of internships in production at 20th Century Fox, The Rachael Ray Show and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. She graduated with honors from Columbia University and currently resides in Los Angeles.


Andrea Bogart Almås is a Missouri born actress, certified yoga instructor and trained dancer who was honored with the “Outstanding Young Alumni” award in 2011 from Missouri State University. Her passions thrust her in front of the camera, landing her with guest starring roles on shows like Lucifer, The Odd Couple, the CSI franchise, a recurring role on Ray Donovan and as a motion character of Halo 5. With appearances on a variety of hit shows, she notably captured the hearts of many as Abby Haver in over 100 episodes on ABC’s Emmy award winning series, General Hospital.

In Steven Soderbergh’s feature, Side Effects, Bogart has a supporting role opposite Jude Law. Appearing in over 40 national commercials and print campaigns for major brands, Andrea can also frequently be seen on the Lifetime movie network playing the lead in several recent features. Valuing a healthy mind and body, Bogart turned to yoga and overwhelmingly felt the well rounded benefits.

She leads classes, private sessions and events regularly. Her love for finding the everyday joys of life and writing are intertwined in her Mindful blog at Bogart volunteers within her Sonoma community offering yoga guidance to various charitable causes.

Sophisticated, hard-working, and an undeniable talent, Angel Parker has brought to life some of the most dynamic and diverse characters on screen today.

With roles ranging from Disney mom to Marvel villain, her favorite role has always been wife and mother to Eric, James, and Naomi.

Becca Lincoln Maniar is an artist, seeker and guide. She is passionate about supporting others in transformation and awakening to their divine selves as a coach and facilitator. Becca recently traveled to Australia to study with non-dual teacher Venant Wong and learned from him to transmit raw kundalini energy to others through touch. She now conducts Kundalini Activation Process (KAP) workshops around the world. Becca recently served as President of the entertainment alumni association for her alma mater, Northwestern University, and also holds MFAs from Carnegie Mellon University and the Moscow Art Theatre School.

She is a founder of Dream Theatre in Chicago, board member and producing director of American Studio Theater in New York and local coordinator for and passionate supporter of The Atlas Project. ​When not coaching, facilitating, acting or directing she can often be found painting large scale abstract art or wandering a museum. A long time vegan, Becca enjoys gardening, cooking and spending time in nature.

Though she dreams of someday having a farm for rescue animals, she currently lives in a historic Cambridge, Massachusetts home with her beloved husband and (so far) only one rescue dog.

After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Neuro-psychology, actress Annie Tedesco moved to Los Angeles to study her first love, comedy. She auditioned into the Groundlings and went through their program until the world of National Commercials came calling.

Appearing in over 50 commercials, Annie also found her way into Network shows such as; The Secret Life of the American Teenager, The Mentalist, How to Get away with Murder, Bella and the Bulldogs, 911, The Kaminsky Method and All Rise, as well as a handful of Indie Features. She has leant her voice to Radio and TV ads and is the proud mother of two little humans and a crazy little dog-baby.

In her spare time, Annie is a voracious reader, disinfector of most surfaces in her home and Vice President of The New Hollywood.

Alara Ceri is a writer/comedian, she produces a monthly show at Flappers Comedy Club, and is a social media influencer and manager for other artists. She teaches people how to build their online presence and eventually earn an income from it!

Alara is a wifey, mama to baby boy, Jax Archer, and she looks forward to continue growing her family!

Austin Rising is a professional actor, award-winning narrator, and philanthropist. He’s profoundly grateful to have been connected to The New Hollywood in 2016 and to be able to co-found and facilitate the Men’s Branch beginning in 2017. Austin is an avid lover of the outdoors, reading, animals, and making people laugh.

Award winning Minnesota born actress Brianna Brown Keen has starred in numerous high profile roles throughout the years. She is often recognized for starring on the hit series Homeland on Showtime, as the “love to hate” Dr. Lisa Niles on ABC’s Emmy award winning General Hospital, as a series regular on Lifetime’s show Devious Maids and for reprising the beloved villain Claudia Blaisdel on CW’s Dynasty.

Brianna is the Chair Ambassador for the National Women’s History Museum, co-author of Manifesting Your Mission and the Founder and CEO of The New Hollywood. ​

Christine Garver is a writer, performer, engaged citizen, dog-mom, and baby-mama. Since graduating with honors from Yale, she has lived in LA working in entertainment.

As an actress, she has appeared in recurring roles on MADAM SECRETARY and MAD MEN, as eccentric characters in BROOKLYN NINE-NINE and NCIS, and as a Young Sally Field on BROTHERS & SISTERS. But most will recognize her from such diverse roles as kidnap victim, gunshot murder victim, strangle murder victim, attempted murder victim, and wife of murder victim on a wide variety of CBS procedural dramas. As a content creator, her pilot FERMENTATION was a quarterfinalist in the Austin Film Festival, Slamdance, Final Draft Big Break, and CineStory.

She made viral videos with the award-winning comedy group Half Day Today, and wrote, produced, and starred in THE BREAKUP DIARIES, a web series about the funniest and worst dumps of all time. She writes about people who are a little flawed, a little lost, but a little amazing.

She thinks the world is better when we see a place we’ve never been, feel for people we’ve never met, and imagine things we’ve never seen.

Cristina Cimellaro is from Philadelphia where she began her artistic career as a dancer. She received a BA from Vassar College in Biopsychology and Drama and then pursued an acting career in New York where she starred in many forgettable productions. After moving to Los Angeles, she appeared in several national commercials.

She is a member of Mensa, and helps charities that seek to improve education in the Los Angeles area.

Danielle Kreinik oversees the TV department at Ubisoft Film and Television. Previously, she was the Director of Scripted Development at Thunderbird Entertainment, where she worked on over 200 episodes of produced television.

Her straight to series show, Somewhere Between (ABC), was the first ever Korean scripted format to be adapted for American television. She is EP on the upcoming straight-to-series Apple TV+ series, Mythic Quest, written by Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz, which is a workplace comedy set in a game development studio.

Currently, she is working on a slate of TV adaptations from Ubisoft’s game library as well as original concepts set in the community and world of video games. She also co-runs the Ubisoft Women’s Film and TV Fellowship.

Danielle Nicole has been in the Skincare industry for 14 years and has a passion to educate her clients and inform them on which products and treatments are most suitable for their skin type/condition. Danielle has worked as a Medical Aesthetician for Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologist in Beverly Hills. During her tenure she gained a perspective on cutting edge medical technology like Chemical Peels, Diamond Microdermabrasion treatments, Hydrafacials, and most recently the VENUS LEGACY medical device for Body Contouring. Her philosophy is you can never have enough Education! Danielle was an educator for Paul Mitchell the Skin Academy, where she specialized in Skin Care and Makeup to became a makeup artist for LA Fashion Week which featured designers like Valentino.

She was also an Educator for the International Dermal Institute of Dermalogica where she taught Advanced Skin Care Curriculum and Business Development Skills. With a passion to teach clients and students how to effectively take care of their skin, she started her own skincare line SOLUTION° by Skintech Studios, which provides effective formulas created with advanced ingredients and innovative technology.

Giving back and helping others as an active member for FIDF, Wags & Walks non profit, Downtown LA’s Women’s shelter, Women Empowered and the Miller Children’s Hospital just to name a few. You can see her featured in LA Confidential Magazine as “Beauty’s Best kept Secrets” along with CNN online and E! entertainment being interviewed at the gifting lounge for the Emmy Awards & Golden Globes showcasing her skin care line SOLUTION° by Skintech Studios.

David Schoneveld strives to be the best through sabotage, espionage and any other “äge” that a secret agent such as himself might need… should the moment arise. His best traits are problem solving and resourcefulness.

Since 2003, David has worked at Luma Pictures, CafeFX, ILM, DreamWorks, Hydraulx, Asylum and Digital Domain before switching into real-time FX at OOOii, Infinity Ward, Robotoki, Starbreeze, and now at Deluxe.

David’s Specialties: Maya FX, Destruction, Fluid Dynamics, Unreal & Cry Engine.

Erin Cottrell is an award winning actress, voice over artist, and mother. She cares deeply about empowering women and young girls as well as providing arts education for the at-risk youth of Los Angeles.

For over a decade she taught dance, Shakespeare, and photography for the nonprofit, City Hearts: Kids Say Yes to the Arts. Best known for her portrayal of Missie Lahaye in the acclaimed Love Comes Softly series, she has appeared in dozens of TV shows, mini-series and films including NCIS, The Glades, CSI:NY, E.R., Medium, Numb3rs, Cold Case, Legally Blonde 2, and was the new Caroline Ingalls in ABC’s remake of Little House on the Prairie.

More recently she could be seen starring along side Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd in the feature film, The Identical, as well as playing opposite Ed Asner in the award winning short film, Pacific Edge. Erin’s joy for voice over work is palpable and she’s loved creating animated characters for Disney, Robot Chicken and over a dozen iconic video games.

Her voice has also lent itself to award winning audio books, commercials, and is currently the English-speaking announcer at the Disneyland theme park in Shanghai.

A graduate of UNC Chapel Hill with a BA in Drama, she also studied Shakespeare at The Young Vic in London.

Her greatest accomplishment to date, however, is being a mother to her smart and sassy 5 year old, Nova. She embraces all the joys and chaos of motherhood alongside her loving husband and giant white husky mix, Ghost, in their home by the beach.

While building a career in the restaurant technology space, working with industry leaders such as OpenTable, Jaime Surenkamp kept her passion for storytelling alive.

“Where’s Larry?” was her first film about a chef who unintentionally boils his daughter’s pet lobster, and has to talk with her about where our food comes from. This short film came out of her commitment to animals. Vegan 8 years and counting, Jaime serves as a Board Member for Mercy for Animals and a Senior Advisor for The Good Food Institute. She continues to help people make the connection between animals used for food, as well as the devastating effects of animal agriculture on our planet.

Helping tell stories that have social impact is what led to her first feature film as an Executive Producer on Saint Judy. Saint Judy tells the real life story of LA Immigration attorney Judy Wood and her work on behalf of women. Jaime has several projects she is interested in developing further.

After living in California for 20 years, she made the move to beautiful Boulder, CO with her husband and two furry, four legged kiddos, but is back often to see her old Venice neighborhood, visit friends and work on new projects.

Heather Turgeon is a psychotherapist who specializes in helping families with sleep and other parenting issues. She is the co-author of THE HAPPY SLEEPER and NOW SAY THIS (Penguin RandomHouse). Heather’s writing has appeared in The New York Times and The Washington Post, among others. Her essay on rewards and punishments was chosen as one of The New York Times most popular stories of 2018. She’s the mom of two elementary school kiddos.

Jade Tailor is an actress, singer, writer, producer, director, and advocate for women and self-empowerment. Originally born in Hollywood, California, she has spent her life bi-coastally in both New York and Los Angeles. Her most recent and notable work on the big and small screens include “Aquarious” playing opposite David Duchoveny, “Murder in the First” with Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson, “Higher Power” produced by Lorenzo di Boniventura and starring Austin Stowell and Ron Eldard, and most recently the hit SyFy series, The Magicians.

Jade is also the founder and CEO of Eyeris Entertainment, a production company with the mission to advocate and create films and television where women are depicted in a positive, powerful and inspirational manner. She is also the co-founder of the TRYBE Movement and well as the Eye Rise Movement. You can find her work below:

Jenny Parsinen is a wife, mother, dancer and choreographer. After earning BA’s in both Dance and Drama (UC Irvine), her career took her from being a member of the legendary Donald McKayle’s dance company, Etude Ensemble, to being a dancer and Assistant Choreographer for NY dance companies such as and MSDT, to NY productions like Fame on 42nd St. Choreography credits include the Critics’ Choice Awards, the Broadway production of Allegiance-A New Musical (Associate Choreographer) and Off-Broadway and Regional workshops of Thoughts Of A Colored Man (Royal Family, Arena Stage and NYTW) with her choreography partner, Taye Diggs. Jenny and Taye have also choreographed for the Opening Ceremonies of The Special Olympics, multiple workshops for the revival of the Broadway show, The Me Nobody Knows, and they are proud faculty members for Broadway Arts Community.

Some of Jenny’s other credits include the PBS Special, Under The Streetlamp (Associate Choreographer) and regional productions of Annie, Chicago, Aida and Rent (Assistant Choreographer). She also co-produced the NY benefit, Broadway Sniffs Out Cancer, which raised money for cancer detection dogs and was recently featured on Dr. Berlin’s series, The Real Midwives of Los Angeles, where she had the honor of sharing her struggles with infertility and how they led her to her best role yet, as Mom to her daughter, Annabelle.

Joanna Leeds was born in Florida but raised in New York, and began performing professionally at the age of 3.

Joanna’s mom thought the anxiety tantrums before auditions were perhaps too much for Joanna so she decided to focus on school and other extracurriculars.

After graduating with honors from Harvard University with a degree in neuropsychology, Joanna realized she wasn’t able to kick her passions for performance and creating things.

She works full time as a voice actress and has a pilot in development that she wrote and will star in. She also currently serves on the Sag/Aftra board.

Khetanya Henderson is a true Southern Belle from Atlanta, Georgia. Her passion for story telling began through dance. Giving her the opportunity to perform nationally and internationally on stage, in arenas, T.V. and Film. She was featured in the films Hairspray The Movie, Enchanted and in Cirque du Soleil’s Grammy-Award-winning-show The Beatles Love Show.

To further sharpen her storytelling skills, she went on to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Acting Performance from the University of Connecticut. Since then, she has worked in Theater with the Connecticut Repertory Theater and Baltimore Centerstage.

Her credits include Intimate Apparel (Ester Mills), His Girl Friday (Mollie Malloy), A Chorus Line (Kristine), Legally Blonde (Brooke), Hairspray (Dynamite), Marley (Diane Jobson), and Cages (Understudy).

When she is not on stage, she is featured on commercials including brands like Target, Peloton, and Apple to name a few. And when she is not performing, she is sharing her passion for fitness as a Los Angeles based Instructor and Personal Trainer, helping others achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Jamie Latta Corson’s a Nebraska born and raised, rock the boat, make history, and hell yes kinda gal. She holds a degree from the University of Nebraska with a triple major in journalism, marketing, and public relations with minors in English Literature, Spanish and French. She was a spokesperson for the SEAC (Student Environmental Action Coalition) in college – spreading the word about climate change when people thought it was laughable.

Jamie has the rare pleasure of using her college degree across her career with over 15 years of experience in public relations, advertising, social media and entertainment. She’s currently VP of Content and Social Strategy for Higher Ground PR and Marketing which specializes in the cannabis industry as well as their sister company NewGround which specializes in green building.

In 2007, she co-wrote an episode of the TV series McBride and recently sold a screenplay to Lionsgate in 2017.

Currently she is working on changing the image of cannabis as it legalizes, developing a television series that captures the coming-of-age experience for young girls struggling to define themselves and finds herself returning to her activists’ roots in our current political climate.

She loves animals, traveling, adventure eating and discovering wines of the world. ​

Jud Tylor is a Vancouver born actress, animal enthusiast, acting coach, world traveler, and aspiring cook. Jud has appeared in over 34 television series including a recurring role on the hit series That ‘70s Show, a memorable role as Honey on Mad Men and starring roles in numerous TV movies for NBC, Lifetime and Hallmark.

She’s had a supporting lead alongside Academy Award winner Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in Charlie Wilson’s War and portrayed Larraine Day in 42 with Harrison Ford. Jud won critical acclaim for her portrayal of Suzanne Somers in The Unauthorized Story of Three’s Company and was nominated in 2013 for best Canadian actress by the Canadian Screen Awards for her series regular role on HBO’s Good God.

Jud loves to inspire fellow actors, a passion that’s evolved into a career in coaching. Jud has helped many actors shape their careers, is designing a weekend acting boot camp at Raleigh Studios and has been asked to teach at a prestigious acting school.

Making a difference in the world motivates Jud. She’s worked with women in hospice, taught self-esteem skills to young girls in low-income schools, and volunteered her time and money to a variety of non-profit organizations.

Laura Emanuel is an actress, entrepreneur, reiki practitioner and sound healer who earned a MFA in acting from Carnegie Mellon University and The Moscow Art Theater School. Before moving to Los Angeles, she lived in NYC where she co-founded The American Studio Theater.

She has worked at some of LA’s most prestigious theaters including The Geffen Playhouse, Odyssey Theater Ensemble and Boston Court. Favorite roles include Viola (Twelfth Night), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth) and Julia (The Two Gentleman of Verona) and performing in the LA Fringe Festival, NYC Fringe Festival, and The 2009 ABC talent showcase.

Laura is the founder and CEO of Mystic Dirt, a beauty and wellness company dedicated to empowering self-care, self-worth, and self-love in women.

Lisa Haisha grew up in California with an Iraqi father and an American mother. From the get-go, she had a broad multicultural perspective on life. In her early twenties, she became a dedicated traveler and cultural anthropologist, embracing diversity in over 60 countries. She studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute and screen writing at UCLA, acted in and produced several films, and modeled in Japan before getting a master’s degree in psychology and creating the SoulBlazing method. For close to two decades, Lisa has been teaching SoulBlazing around the world and transforming the lives of people from all walks of life.

She also is the author of the powerful and deeply personal book Whisper from Children’s Hearts. In this book she interviews hundreds of orphans asking them the same 3 questions: Is God fair, why or why not? Who in the world would you want to meet and why? And, and If you could have one wish, what would it be? This book turned into a movement and a non-profit of the same name. She is also the host of two popular Amazon video series and continues to exuberantly travel the globe with her daughter.

A two-time TEDxSpeaker and Author, Pina De Rosa works as a certified Pet Bereavement Counselor. Having lost 2 beloved dogs to cancer in 13 months she is grateful to support bereft pet parents with specific coping skills during their deepest heartbreak. With the blessing of the APLB & AAVSB, she created to support adults and children heal through healthy coping skills during their time of grief.

Her Pet Grief Counseling column “From Grief To Grace” has been published monthly in the Eden Magazine. Inspired by her dog Wellington Sr. when he was alive, her passion project lives on: honoring #MissionWellington and his philanthropic legacy, she gifts “doggie bags” with pet food, blankets and supplies to pups living in the streets.

Follow that journey on Pina speaks 5 languages, holds 4 passports and has traveled to over 50 countries. She has figured out a way to bypass jet-lag and created the App to help travelers worldwide bypass it too!

Sara Wyle has been, and is, many things. An actress, singer, business owner and maker of people. She is deeply committed to reducing her carbon foot print and loves reading actual books.

Splitting her time between Los Angeles and Santa Ynez California, where she resides with her Wyle husband, 4 1/2 year old hurricane and three wild dogs.

Sascha Rosemann was born in Cottbus, in what was then, East Germany. After years of trying to escape dictatorship, his family was finally able to make it to West Berlin two years before the Wall fell, which is where he spent most of his teens.

Today he is beyond grateful to be living his childhood dream: calling Los Angeles his home, while his work as a producer and screenwriter takes him all around the world, from South Sudan to Milan, London, Cannes and Big Sur (to name a few), as he gains plenty of airline miles, fascinating experiences and incredible friendships along the way.

Seyie Putsure founded Seyie Design to create fashionable & functional branded interiors for luxury and design-conscious residential and retail clients. Having started her career as an executive with Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana in New York City, she brings a deep understanding of branding, merchandising and special consumer experience strategy, and a high level of sophistication into the interiors that Seyie Design creates. Since its founding in 2007, Seyie Design’s body of work has grown internationally to include retail, high-end salons and spas, boutique bakeries, event lounges and private residences.

Seyie was Fendi Casa’s Designer of the Month, the exclusive designer for the 54th and 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards® Official Talent Gift Lounge, and has been featured in TIME, LUCKY, Vogue and Elle magazine, among others.

She has also been named by Vogue India as one of “the new women of interiors.” She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Clark University and graduated from UCLA Extension’s Professional Interior Design program. Some exciting recently completed projects include several retail boutiques at The BLOC, a new innovative lifestyle shopping center in Downtown Los Angeles.

Stephanie Jackson is a writer, director and content creator living in Los Angeles. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Stephanie received her degree in Public Relations from Syracuse University. After two years of working abroad, she went back to New York, this time Manhattan, where she studied at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Stephanie then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment. Her work as an actress has included roles on Chuck, Up All Night, Workaholics and Fresh Off the Boat – almost always playing a mom.

This typecasting, as well as a bout with infertility, led her to write, produce, direct and star in her digital series, Does This Baby Make Me Look Fat? The show has received numerous accolades, including two Telly Awards and ten IndieFEST Film Awards. Her success in short-form comedy led Stephanie to the branded content realm, where she specializes in infusing parenting brands with edgy humor for social media campaigns. Notable clients include Belly Bandit, LoveBug Probiotics, Pat Pat Clothing and Ready, Set, Food!.

Stephanie is thrilled to be playing a real-life mom now to her young boys, Rhett and Wells. Her Fitbit will confirm she easily reaches her 10,000 steps daily.

Actress Virginia Williams is currently one of the stars of the Netflix original series, Teenage Bounty Hunters, set to release summer 2020.  This highly anticipated comedy will mark Jenji Kohan’s third Netflix series after Orange is the New Black and GLOW.

Virginia just completed playing the role of ‘Charity’ through season one of the CW’s Charmed reboot and has been recurring as ‘CJ’ on seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Netflix breakout hit, Fuller House.  Virginia is also well-known for her starring roles as ‘Lauren Reed’ on Fairly Legal for USA network and the starring role of ‘Bianca’ on the Lifetime original series Monarch Cove.

Appearing in over 100 episodes of primetime television, she has held noteworthy recurring roles and guest stars on hits such as Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, NCIS, Drop Dead Diva, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, and the cult-classic Strangers With Candy, to name a few.  Additionally, she’s held memorable roles in the films Woodlawn, The Culling, Honeymoon With Mom, ‘Reading, Writing, & Romance,’ and the People’s Choice Award-nominated Revenge of the Bridesmaids.

Virginia earned a B.A. in Theatre Performance from Fordham University at Lincoln Center and studied Shakespeare at Oxford University as well as the British American Drama Academy in London.

Hailing from Memphis, TN and fiercely loyal to her Southern roots, she currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, talent and literary manager, Bradford Bricken, her 4 year old and 2 year old sons, Ford and Beau, and her labradoodle, Elvis.
